BBYO, NFTY and NCSY have collectively expanded programming and opened dozens more chapters and clubs in recent years.
When Ottawa opened its new BBYO chapter in December 2025, Leora Taub-Handelman, 15, was one of the inaugural members. As the vice-president of programming, one of 10 leadership roles at the new chapter, she helped their membership grow to around 30 people by the end of the academic year.
